Apple adds AI to Keynote, Pages and Numbers
On 27 October 2026 Apple announced AI assistants for Keynote, Pages and Numbers in its Apple Creator Studio bundle, plus AI image editing in Pixelmator Pro. The update comes free to subscribers in November. If your staff make slides or visuals on a Mac, agree which files may go into AI tools before you switch it on.
What changes in Keynote, Pages and Numbers
Each app gets an assistant, still marked beta, that reads the document you have open:
- Keynote: help with designing slides, adding animation and polishing a deck.
- Pages: drafting text, reorganising it and tightening the wording.
- Numbers: doing calculations, suggesting a chart type with a quick preview and building tables.
The three apps also add support for MCP (Model Context Protocol), a standard that lets outside AI agents and tools read a document, edit it and run automatic actions in it. Subscribers also get stock video and new templates.
The free versions of Keynote, Pages and Numbers that come with every Mac, iPhone and iPad stay available. The press release lists the new AI features under Apple Creator Studio.
Other updates
- Pixelmator Pro: Generate Fill lets you circle part of a photo and describe the change in words.
- Final Cut Pro: built-in MotionVFX effects, titles and transitions, plus a stock library of video and photos.
- Logic Pro: an assistant in beta and better tools for splitting music into parts.
Price
Apple lists new subscriptions at US$12.99 a month or US$129 a year, with a one-month free trial, as of 27 October 2026. Buyers of a new Mac or qualifying iPad get three months free. Check the App Store for the Malaysian price.
What to do
- Decide who in the office really needs it. Staff who make slides, product photos or short videos get the most from it.
- Try the one-month free trial on one Mac before you pay for more.
- Before using the AI assistants or connecting any outside AI agent through MCP, agree which files may be used. Keep customer personal data, contracts and payroll out of AI tools unless you have checked where the data goes (PDPA).
- Check AI text and figures before they go to a customer. Numbers built by an assistant can still be wrong.
- Keep generated images labelled as illustrations, not real photos of your products or premises.
