Google Workspace round-up: 31 Oct to 6 Nov 2026

Google added three Workspace features this week. Gemini in Google Forms can now sum up your responses and suggest next steps. Google Vids makes AI video clips of up to 15 seconds. Enterprise customers can test automatic encryption for sensitive files. Check your Workspace plan below to see which ones reach your team.

Gemini in Google Forms: insights from responses

Google says Gemini can now look through the answers in a form, count and compare them, point out patterns between questions and suggest what to do next. You start it from the Responses tab of the form. It suits customer feedback forms, event sign-ups and job application forms.

It is for Business Standard and Business Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and some education and personal AI plans. Business Starter is not on the list. Rapid Release domains started getting it on 2 November and Scheduled Release domains from 19 November, with up to 15 days for it to appear. Smart features and personalisation must be on for Gemini to show in the side panel.

Google Vids: AI clips up to 15 seconds

Vids now uses Google's Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash model. You can set a generated clip anywhere from 3 to 15 seconds, and Google says characters and products stay more consistent between clips. It is rolling out from 5 November to Business Starter, Standard and Plus and most other plans, with no admin switch. Earlier this week Vids also added custom avatars made from a photo.

Automatic encryption for confidential files (beta)

Admins can now set rules that apply client-side encryption to sensitive Docs, Sheets, Slides, Office files, PDFs and images in Drive without staff doing it by hand. The file keeps its original link. This beta needs an Assured Controls or Assured Controls Plus add-on on Enterprise Plus, so most small businesses will not see it.

What to do

  1. Check your plan in the Google Admin console under Billing, so you know which features apply to you.
  2. If you run surveys or sign-up forms, try Gemini on the Responses tab once it appears. Read its summary against the actual answers before you act on it.
  3. Remind staff that clips made in Vids are AI-made. Label them when you post them for customers.
  4. If you are on Business Starter and want Gemini in Forms, compare plans before you upgrade.
